Former Governor Ed Rendell and Wife Separate



  • Separated: Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, 67, and his wife, federal Judge Marjorie Rendell, 64, after nearly 40 years of marriage and one son. In an email sent to friends, and obtained by the Philadelphia Daily News, the couple declared their split so amicable that no one should hesitate to invite them to the same parties. He just left the governor's mansion last month after eight years; she's been on the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals since '97.

  • Divorcing: Superstar skateboarder/extreme sports mogul Tony Hawk, 42, and his third wife, Lhotse Merriam, People reports. One daughter together, and he has three kids by previous unions.


    • Former Governor Ed Rendell and his wife, U.S. District Court Judge Marjorie "Midge" Rendell are now living separately after 40 years of marriage. That's according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

    In an e-mail to friends and family.. the two say they will be living separately now that the Rendell's have left the Governor's mansion.

    The email also reads... "The separation is amicable".. And adds this postscript. "People should not hesitate to include both of us in social occasions as we will not find it awkward or uncomfortable."
